Neil
retired from the Deloitte New Zealand partnership in September
2001 after 28 years with the international firm and now operates
his own part-time consultancy business. Before immigrating
to New Zealand in 1988 he had an extensive background in the
provision of a broad range of assurance, business advisory
and financial management services to a diverse range of organisations
in the United Kingdom, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
In
the early years of his time with Deloitte in New Zealand Neil
was extensively involved in the implementation of Financial
Management Reform in the Public Sector and in a wide range
of consultancy projects. In the late 1990's he was the Partner
responsible for human resource consulting services in New
Zealand. At the end of December 2000 he completed a 14 month
secondment to the Health Funding Authority as Interim Chief
Financial Officer. Over many years of practice Neil has grown
and developed expertise that is a unique blend of a wide range
of skills and experience. He now provides and offers distinctive
services grounded on being a trusted advisor, facilitator
and coach to organisations and individuals.
He
currently serves on several advisory boards and finance, audit
and risk committees and acts as financial and business advisor
to various organisations. He continues to act as a trainer
and coach for training courses in leadership and management
for the Asia region of Deloitte. He also acts as a facilitator
and advisor on specific initiatives and projects focussing
on Public Benefit Entities with a particular emphasis on the
Health Sector.
